Thursday August 15th both Joel and Vincent had
school orientation. Joel’s was more of
an open house type deal. He was very
excited to go into the classroom and meet his teachers, the two teaching aides
and, his new speech therapist. He played
with all the new toys and even interacted with a couple other students in his class. Right now he only has 4 kids in his class,
they are all boys and 3 of the 4 names start with “J.” They may get more kids in the classroom as
the year progresses.
Vincent’s teacher had only a few kids come to orientation at
a time. We were able to drop off school
supplies, hear about kindergarten and the kids were given special binders to
take back and forth every day. His
teacher emphasized to the kids that they were supposed to be responsible. She asked them if they helped clean the table
after dinner and Vincent said “yes, every day.”
Which is not the truth. Try once
a week when we make him. Anyway, he also
listened very well and had some good questions for the teacher like “When is
library day and when is computers?”
Hard to believe that I will have two kids in school this
year!
