Kids and their dogs

There are really few things cuter than kids and their dogs!  Over the years our kids and dogs and gone from coexisting to really loving each other.  When Vincent was born the dogs didn’t know what to think about him and Vincent didn’t really think much of the dogs.  Then Joel came along and they saw the kids as less of an annoyance (they learned kids threw food on the floor) and Joel was fascinated with the dogs.  By the time Cecilia showed up the dogs barely noticed or cared when she climbed all over them and hugged and kissed them.  She is almost 15 months and this past week she added "Bristol" to her limited vocabulary.

The dogs were so good for the boys

Where are we going next Joel?

Our dogs are rarely on leashes, a perk of living in the country, and last week the kids decided they wanted to walk the dogs.  It started with Joel grabbing Bristol’s collar and dragging her along.  That didn’t work out so well, so I got the harnesses and leashes out for the boys to walk the dogs around the yard.  It was hard to tell if the dogs were walking the kids or vice versa.  The boys loved it and Cecilia followed them around hoping they would let her catch up.

Well, if you can't decide then I will show you were I like to go.

Wait for us!

Joel loves Bristol so very much.

He just loves to hug her and talk to her.

It is easier to walk the dog when your tongue is sticking out.

Vincent and Maisy

He is so proud of his dog.

The boys were talking to the dogs, hugging them, and giving them commands.  The problem is the dogs don’t feel the need to listen to the “small mailmen” and the dogs look to me to see if they really should listen.  Vincent was walking Maisy around and decided that the dogs should have a race.  We set the dogs up at the bottom of our dairy barn ramp, I walked out to the fence with Cecilia, and called the dogs.  Don’t worry the kids weren’t attached to the leashes anymore.  It was no surprise to me that Maisy won!

More hugs!

Lining up for the race.  Bristol getting her pre-race hug.

The line up!

On your marks, get set.....

Go!

Maisy wins!

Cecilia loves Bristol!

So much love!

It was a blast watching my four legged and two legged children playing together!

A sippy full of milk and two dogs to cuddle.  What more can a girl ask for?

Do you think he is done hugging me yet?
