My cousin came over the other night with her son, who is Joel's age. Both our husbands were out of town and we thought it would be fun for the boys to play together. Honestly, I just wanted to hang out with my cousin and the fact the Joel and her son are the same age just gives us an excuse!

My children were not the happiest kids in the world that day, but we all still had fun. After exploring the sandbox, the yard, checking on the horses, playing in the water, and checking out the "yucky" barn (where the kids have some toys) we took our visitors to the neighbor's corn field. Normally this time of year I wouldn't take 3 small children to just go walk in a corn field, they could easily get lost, but this field doesn't look very good and there was a large area where the kids were taller than the corn. Not good for the farmer, but fun for the kids and a great opportunity for pictures! There was such a variety of plant height in the field that Vince was convinced there was a hill in the field. He kept calling the area with short corn "the city" and then we would walk between the rows, "roads", to other places (the mountains) and then back to the city. Since Vince was the only child that can talk in sentences he got to decide what we were pretending. The two little kids were just happy running up and down the rows
