Brad, Bob and Craig were given the opportunity, thanks to our crop insurance company, to take a plane ride to do some crop scouting from the air. After some discussion Brad and Craig went for a ride and Bob stayed on the ground. The plane was a 1969 single engine Cessna. The plan was to head to view our crops around Farmer City and then come back up to see the rest of the crops around home. They made it around the Farmer City area but on their way north a storm hit. According to Brad there was some rocking and rolling, thunder and some lightning off in the distance. The pilot was extremely nervous and decided they would head back to the small airport they started at and go another day to see the fields around home. It kind of worked out for the best because now Bob will have an opportunity to go up in the plane. Here are some pictures that Brad took on his adventure. It was a little hazy so the pictures did not turn out the best, better luck on the next flight. Overall they were able to report that crop conditions look mostly positive for corn throughout north central Illinois.
