I am going to generalize here and hope not to offend anyone. Stewart males (and sometimes females) believe that they are always right and know better than anyone how to do most things. I am starting to find out this starts at a young age.
The evening of Father's Day my in laws stopped by. It was 8:30pm and we were eating dinner outside and still playing. Vince wanted to show Grandma Diane his new slide and managed to convince her to go down it. He went first so he could show her how to do it. She went down and landed on her butt! She said it was way to fast. Then almost simultaneously Vince, Brad and Craig all tried to tell her how she went down the slide wrong. She needed to spread her feet out and make sure she pointed her feet down when she came to the end. Vince told her "Grandma you have to put your legs out like this. Watch me! I taught Joel and he goes slow and you just do it like we do." Joel and Vince went down the slide a couple times to demonstrate.
Grandpa Craig then went down the slide. Then Vince convinced Grandma Diane to go down again. He is a very persuasive guy. Vince went first and then Joel and Vince made sure Grandma was paying attention to how they went down the slide slowly. As Grandma Diane was sitting at the top of the slide Vince, Brad and Craig were all standing at the bottom of the slide giving directions to Grandma at the same time. It must have worked because Grandma came down the slide just fine this time and stuck the landing! Grandpa did give her a hand as she was coming down to give her a little bit of help.
We were all very proud of Grandma for going down the slide and sticking the landing!
