Is it Spring Yet?

Spring is slowly coming and we keep getting glimpses of warm weather.  The grass is finally green, flowers are starting to poke out of the ground and we are all getting anxious to have some nice days so we can play outside (and get some crops planted!).  Last week on Sunday we had the chance to play outside.  It was a beautiful day and as a bonus it wasn’t even windy outside.

Attempting to get a group photo...giant fail!

We all had a blast.  The dogs were running around.  The kids were playing in the sandbox, on the swings, slides, and playing basketball.  Cecilia learned to climb the stairs to the fort and she figured out to go out down the smaller slide with very minimal help.  As we were playing outside we noticed that Uncle John had a crew spreading sludge in the field next to us.  Vincent said “Oh no, we gotta get out of here!”  He is not a fan of the smell.  He quickly changed his tune when Uncle John offered to let Joel and Vincent ride in the tractor with him.  Uncle John was very brave to take both boys in the tractor with him alone.  I was told that they both were good.  They seemed to enjoy their ride!

While the boys were off with Uncle John, Brad and I watch Cecilia play in the yucky barn.  She was having fun running from door to door playing peekaboo and loving on the dogs.  We had a little mini photo shoot (thank goodness for iPhones!).

We of course used the nice weather to get Ray out to pull the carriage!  Even Bristol and Maisy joined us on the ride.  It was the first time Maisy has been brave enough to ride on the carriage.  The kids thought it was great that the dogs came along.  Cecilia was mad most of the time because I wouldn't let her walk and climb all over the carriage while we were going down the rode.  When we got back home Brad took the kids inside and I had a chance to drive Ray.  Normally Brad drives and I wrangle children, it was a nice change.

Brad had a late night Saturday night and he was dragging a little bit on Sunday.  At one point I told him to just sit and play with the bubbles with the kids.  They would be very entertained and he wouldn't have to put forth a lot of effort.  After using the bubble wand a couple times Brad got bored.  He went and got the air compressor, dialed down the pressure and used the air compressor to blow bubbles!

It was a fun day and we are looking forward to warm days not being the exception!
