Christmas Adam with the Family!

Growing up my Grandma Ruggiero called December 23rd Christmas Adam,  because Adam came before Eve.  This year we spent Christmas Adam at Grandma Pat and Papa's house.  Mom, Dave, Bianca, Kasi, Kennidy, Jill, Joe, Alyse, Alyse's friend Joe, Kasi's boyfriend Brandon, Annie, Aunt Mindi and Uncle Terry were all there.  We don't always get together on Christmas Adam, we generally get together the weekend before Christmas and this year it just happened to fall on the 23rd.  It was a great evening of family, fun and laughter.

Me and my mom!

What did we do all night?  The usual: chit chat, eat food, take pictures, skype Tina, eat food, open presents, have a gingerbread house making contest, eat more food, watch Dunkin vomit, and visit some more.

Part way through the night we decided we should Skype Tina.  Luckily she was available to chat!  It was fun talking to Tina on Skype.  She probably was getting dizzy as the iPad was getting carried around the house so she could talk to everyone.

As part of the forced family fun we had 4 teams that all built whatever kind of gingerbread house they wanted to.  Grandma Pat was the judge.  The team captains were Brandon, Joe G., Joe M., and Brad.  It was competitive and spouses/significant others were not necessarily chosen first or in some cases at all.  Team 1: Brad, Kennidy, and Kelli.  We were going to build a barn but it wasn't working out so we abandoned that idea and made a nativity scene.  It was complete with animals built out of veggies.  We also had Brad's phone laying next to it playing "Away in the Manger."  Team 2: Dave, Brandon and Kasi.  They built a ski slope.  It was pretty neat.  Team 3: Jill, Joe G., and Alyse.  They built a ski chateau with a hot tub on the roof.  Team 4: Joe M., Bianca and Annie.  They made a two story building with elaborate doors and a neat picture on the roof.  Team #1 won!

A one point in the night I was trying to get Cecilia to nap in my grandparent's room when my sister Alyse came storming in.  Dunkin (her dog) had managed to eat half a plate of a goat cheese dip, some pork and probably something else.  She was concerned.  I told her if she wanted to make him vomit to give him hydrogen peroxide.  I was a little surprised when she reached into Dunkin's bag and pulled out hydrogen peroxide, an oral dosing syringe, and a long leash to tie him up outside.  We all got a good laugh out of her being so prepared!  But it isn't the first time Dunkin has eaten something he shouldn't!

We are lucky to be loved by so many people and the kids were blessed with a lot of goodies.  Vincent was even asked to be a ring bearer in Aunt Jill and Uncle Joe's wedding.  He said yes, but I don't think he really knew what he was agreeing too.  It was a long, fun day and the kids barely made it out of the subdivision awake!
